WASHINGTON, DC – The new stealth B-21 Raider bomber was publicly rolled out for the first time last week at the production facility in California.
South Dakota Senator Mike Rounds says it is impressive and the first public display of what will be one of the most technologically advanced aircraft ever put in the air. Still classified, he says it will make its first flight this year.
The first squadron of bombers will be based at Ellsworth Airforce Base near Rapid City. Rounds says they don’t have a
schedule yet.
The Air Force plans to buy about one hundred of the bombers at a cost of about seven hundred million dollars
each.
