MOORHEAD (KFGO) – A man was taken to a hospital after he was rescued from the top of a railroad bridge, about 25 to 30 feet above the westbound shoulder of I-94 in Moorhead Monday.
Around 4 p.m. police were dispatched to a report of a suspicious man and found him on the railroad bridge support pillar near the 2000 block 0f 28th Avenue South, not far from the Minnesota State Community and Technical College.
The Moorhead Fire Department’s ladder truck was used to bring the man down safely.
The man had a self-inflicted injury to his hand and was suffering from cold-weather exposure-related medical injuries. He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Westbound lanes of I-94 between 34th Street South and 20th Street were temporarily closed during the rescue and reopened shortly before 5 p.m.
