ST. PAUL – Minnesota House Democratic Majority Leader Ryan Winkler applauds the state taking legal action against Northland Vapor in Moorhead and Bemidji for allegedly selling “gummy bear” edibles containing as much as 50 times the amount of T-H-C permitted by state law.
Winkler says it’s a good indication that Minnesota regulators are prepared to enforce a legalized, regulated cannabis market in the future.
Democrats will control both the state House and Senate come January, and Winkler says Minnesota is ready to join nearly two dozen states that have legalized recreational cannabis.
However, analysts say it could be difficult to get the necessary votes from rural lawmakers. Winkler responds it has strong bipartisan support.
