(KFGO/KNFL) The Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton softball team used two 7th inning comebacks to advance to the Class AA championship on Friday at Caswell Park in North Mankato.
In the opening round, DGF scored three times in the top of the 7th to defeat Pipestone Area 6-4. The Rebels took advantage of four Arrows errors in the inning. Skylar Spessard and Danielle Boyd added hits in the inning. Spessard led DGF, going 3-4 with 2 RBI.
Natalee Linman earned the win in relief for the Rebels, going three innings allowing one hit and one unearned run.
In the semifinals, DGF scored twice in the 7th to upset top-seed LeSueur-Henderson 2-1. After Spessard and Boyd recached on hits to start the inning, an RBI groundout by Kaleigh Peterson and an error gave DGF the lead. Linman set down L-H in order in the bottom of the 7th to secure the win.
The Rebels (25-2) will face St. Agnes or St. Charles in the final on Friday at 4:00 at Caswell Park.
