Sony’s “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” has taken the top spot at the U.K. and Ireland box office, surpassing Warner Bros.’ “Dune: Part II” after its three-week reign. The film brought in £4 million in its debut weekend, while “Dune: Part II” earned £2.6 million in its fourth weekend, bringing its total to £30.7 million. Black Bear’s “Immaculate” also made its mark with £522,583 in third place, followed by Studiocanal’s “Wicked Little Letters” in fourth place with a total of £8.1 million after five weeks. Universal’s “Migration” rounded off the top five with £370,464 in its eighth weekend, bringing its total to £19.5 million.

Two new debuts made it into the top 10, with Vertigo’s “Late Night With The Devil” in seventh place with £220,436 and Trafalgar’s “Romeo Et Juliette – Met Opera 2023/24” in tenth place with £81,880. As the Easter holidays approach, the week is filled with new releases. Trafalgar Releasing’s “Hate To Love: Nickelback” and drama-thriller “Mother’s Instinct” starring Jessica Chastain and Anne Hathaway are set to release on Wednesday, March 27. Universal’s “Kung Fu Panda 4” and Warner Bros.’ “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire” are also set for wide releases.

In addition to the new releases, there are plenty of festival films to look forward to. Metfilm Distribution is bringing in titles such as Anthony Chen’s “Drift,” Giacomo Abbruzzese’s “Disco Boy,” Sean Price Williams’ “The Sweet East,” and “Cidade Rabat.” Modern Films will release “Opus” featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto, “The Origin of Evil,” “Silver Haze,” “We 12,” and “Little Eggs: A Frozen Rescue.” Classic cinema enthusiasts can enjoy Studiocanal’s 4K restoration of “The Lavender Hill Mob” and Park Circus’ 60th-anniversary re-release of “Mary Poppins.”

With a diverse range of films hitting the box office, audiences have plenty to choose from this week. From blockbuster hits like “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” and “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire” to indie and festival favorites like “Drift” and “Disco Boy,” there is something for everyone.
