DETROIT — The Buffalo Bills responded to an early Detroit Lions’ touchdown with an on-point 19-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Josh Allen to wide receiver Isaiah McKenzie in the end zone. The Bills and Lions are tied, 7-7.
With pressure moving toward Allen and wide receiver Stefon Diggs covered by two defenders, the quarterback remained in the pocket and connected with McKenzie as he sped into the end zone at a max speed of 19.3 mph. It was McKenzie’s first catch of the game and first touchdown since Week 4.
The score came on third-and-6, which is a positive sign for the Bills offense. Allen came into the day 2-of-12 on third down red zone passes, one touchdown and one interception, worst of any quarterback with at least 10 attempts.
The Bills responded after the Lions got on the board with a 2-yard rushing touchdown by running Jamaal Williams. This is the third straight game the Bills have allowed the first points of the game. They had done so only once in their first eight games of the season.
