David Spade recently reunited with his Grown Ups co-star Steve Buscemi and discussed a particularly memorable scene from the 2010 comedy film. In the scene, Buscemi’s character suffers a brutal waterpark injury that leaves him in a full-body cast during a basketball game. Buscemi recalled the discomfort of filming in the cast and one moment when he got angry during shooting. He explained that despite being in a difficult position, the rest of the cast scattered when it started to rain, leading to a frustrating experience where he felt neglected on set.

Talking about his frustration during the filming of the scene, Buscemi revealed that he hit his breaking point when he was asked to film a shot where a dog sniffs his private parts. This unexpected request angered him, and he expressed his disbelief at the situation. Additionally, he shared that the hands shown in the film were not actually his. Despite the challenges Buscemi faced during filming, the movie was a success and remains popular with audiences even more than a decade after its release.

In addition to Buscemi, Grown Ups features a star-studded cast including Adam Sandler, David Spade, Chris Rock, Kevin James, Rob Schneider, Salma Hayek, and Maya Rudolph. The film follows a group of lifelong friends who reunite at a lake house from their childhood after coming together as adults for their former basketball coach’s funeral. Sandler, who also co-wrote the film, stated that he had the cast in mind while writing the script, as they are his real-life friends.

Grown Ups was praised for its humor and chemistry among the cast members, leading to a successful box office performance and positive reception from audiences. Sandler mentioned that there was a lot of ad-libbing and jokes on set, with Spade in particular standing out to viewers for his comedic performance. Despite Sandler not being surprised by the cast’s performances, he highlighted Spade’s work as exceptional and unexpected for many viewers. The film’s blend of humor, friendship, and nostalgia resonated with audiences and continues to be enjoyed by viewers, with it currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
