Jagged Edge Productions has confirmed that a third installment of the slasher film series, “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey,” is in the works. The producers, Rhys Frake-Waterfield and Scott Chambers, have announced that the upcoming film will have a bigger budget and will introduce new characters from the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories, such as Rabbit, heffalumps, and woozles, all with sadistic and murderous twists. The news of the third film comes on the heels of the release of “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2,” which is currently in U.S. cinemas for a limited 3-day run.

The original “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” was a surprise hit at the box office, despite receiving poor reviews. The film, made for under $50,000, earned an impressive $5.2 million globally, making it one of the most successful budget-to-box office ratio films in history. The sequel, with a significantly higher budget, has been better received by audiences, although critics like Owen Gleiberman from Variety have criticized it as being a “shambles.” However, the sequel has been praised for having more gore and a redesigned Pooh character, described as a homicidal version of Jim Carrey’s Grinch.

In addition to the announcement of “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3,” Jagged Edge Productions recently revealed their plans for a low-budget horror version of “Avengers: Infinity War” titled “Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble.” This crossover film will bring together characters from “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” and other films from their Twisted Childhood Universe, including Bambi, Tinkerbell, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tigger, Piglet, The Mad Hatter, and Sleeping Beauty. “Poohniverse” is scheduled for release in 2025, but it is unclear whether production will start before or after “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3.”

The expansion of the Twisted Childhood Universe by Jagged Edge Productions suggests a growing trend in horror films that reimagine classic childhood characters in a darker and more violent light. The success of the “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” franchise has opened up opportunities for other twisted versions of beloved characters to be explored on screen. Despite the controversial nature of these films, they have found an audience that enjoys the thrill of seeing innocent characters transformed into merciless killers for entertainment.

Fans of the “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” series can look forward to the upcoming third installment, which promises to continue the tradition of gory and twisted reimaginings of classic characters. With a larger budget and new characters introduced, the film is expected to push the boundaries of horror and shock audiences with its brutal and sadistic take on the beloved childhood stories. As the popularity of the franchise grows, it will be interesting to see how Jagged Edge Productions continues to expand its Twisted Childhood Universe and bring new and terrifying versions of familiar characters to the screen.
