Abby Hensel, one half of the conjoined twins duo Abby and Brittany Hensel, got married to Joshua Bowling in 2021. Joshua, a nurse and army veteran from Johnson City, Tennessee, has been pictured with the sisters on his Facebook account. The sisters have also shared a profile picture from their wedding day on their own Facebook page. Abby and Brittany are dicephalus conjoined twins, sharing everything below the waist while having their own brains, hearts, lungs, and stomachs. Each twin controls one side of the body, with Abby controlling the right side and Brittany controlling the left side.
The Hensel sisters were known to the public long before their own reality show aired in 2012. They first appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1996, and were later the focus of the documentary “Joined for Life” in 2003. The show “Abby & Brittany” followed the sisters as they graduated from college, traveled around Europe, and began their first job. Both Abby and Brittany graduated from Bethel University in Minnesota and chose to stay in the state to pursue careers in teaching. Despite having two degrees and being able to offer two different perspectives, the sisters acknowledged that they would only receive one salary for their teaching job.
