Allison Janney is set to join the cast of “A Simple Favor 2,” alongside returning cast members Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick. The sequel will follow Stephanie and Emily as they head to the beautiful island of Capri for Emily’s wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman, where murder and betrayal make for a wedding with twists and turns. Other returning cast members include Henry Golding, Andrew Rannells, Bashir Salahuddin, and more.
The film is set to begin production in the spring and will also feature Elena Sofia Ricci, Michele Morrone, Elizabeth Perkins, and others in the cast. Janney, who has an impressive list of awards to her name, can currently be seen in Apple TV+ series “Palm Royale” and is shooting season two of Netflix’s “The Diplomat.” She has also recently wrapped production on Lionsgate’s “Everything’s Going To Be Great” and the drama “Miss You, Love You.”
The first film was a commercial success for Lionsgate, earning over $97 million worldwide, and “A Simple Favor 2” will be available for streaming on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories. The script for the sequel is based on characters created by Darcy Bell, with writing credits going to Jessica Sharzer, Laeta Kalogridis, Steve Yockey, and Paul Feig.
