Shannon Beador’s ex-husband, David Beador, was recently charged with reckless driving and speeding at over 100 miles per hour, less than a year after Shannon herself was arrested for driving under the influence. He pleaded not guilty to the misdemeanor charges and a pre-trial hearing was scheduled for April. This legal trouble for David comes as Shannon has been trying to turn her life around following her own DUI incident where she crashed her car into a home while intoxicated.
The incident involving Shannon occurred last September when she was booked for a hit-and-run and DUI alcohol. She spent time in jail and had to pay $2,500 bail. Additionally, the Newport Beach Police Department’s animal control unit launched an investigation against her since she had her dog in the car during the accident. Shannon enrolled in an outpatient program to address her substance abuse issues ahead of being formally charged and sentenced to three years probation.
During BravoCon in November 2023, Shannon shared that she had been focusing on herself following the incident. She acknowledged that while she never drinks and drives and usually opts for using Uber, there were unhealthy habits in her life that contributed to her drinking behavior. Shannon and David Beador were married from 2000 to 2019 and share three daughters. Their marriage struggles, including infidelity, played out on the reality show, “Real Housewives of Orange County.”
Following Shannon filing for divorce in December 2017, the legal battle between the couple became contentious as they fought over child custody and spousal support. David had criticized Shannon’s drinking behavior in court documents, claiming that it was detrimental to their children. However, Shannon was eventually awarded $1.4 million and $10,000 a month in support in April 2019. Despite their past legal battles, it seems that Shannon and David have managed to improve their relationship as they were spotted together at a local hotspot in Orange County posing for a selfie in June.
