Meet Tristan!
Heather Rae Young and Tarek El Moussa introduced their baby boy two weeks after his arrival.
The reality stars shared photos of their son’s face for the first time Wednesday, telling Us Weekly about the inspiration behind his name.
“Tarek was supposed to be named Tristan, and his parents ended up naming him Tarek,” Young, 35, explained.
As for Tristan’s middle moniker, the “Selling Sunset” star noted, “My dad’s middle name is Jay. So it’s four generations of the middle name Jay.”
The real estate agent gave birth to the infant in January, telling her Instagram followers earlier this month about her plans to stay in a “happy, private little bubble” before sharing him with the world.
With the newborn now making his debut, the couple gushed freely to the magazine about Young’s Jan. 31 labor and delivery.
Since the former Playboy model’s water could not break “on its own,” she was given “half a pill called Cytotec … to get the process started” when a stress test showed that Tristan “wasn’t moving as much as he usually did.”
The duo met their son earlier than the “two to three hours of pushing” doctors predicted.
After “one last big push,” Tristan came out, with El Moussa recalling, “All the blood vessels in [Young’s] face and her chest broke.”
The 41-year-old “Flip or Flop” alum, who shares daughter Taylor, 12, and son Brayden, 7, with ex-wife Christina Haack, called the moment “surreal.”
He gushed, “I knew it was happening, but … it was like a feeling that I didn’t even know [could happen]. And it was just such a beautiful thing.”

El Moussa and Young announced in July 2022 that they were expecting their first baby together.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think my heart would be so full from being a step mommy… and now I get to be a mommy, myself,” the then-pregnant star captioned her bump debut at the time. “It’s crazy how life works.”
The pair got married in October 2021 after two years together.
