The Cambridges can’t resist a twinning tennis moment.
Kate Middleton and Prince William brought Prince George, 8, to his first Wimbledon match yesterday — and the family coordinated perfectly in navy blue for the exciting men’s singles final between Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios.
Wearing a navy polka dot dress ($1,305) by one of her recent go-to designers, Alessandra Rich, the 40-year-old rocked a 1980s-inspired outfit for her second Wimbledon appearance of the weekend.
She added two-toned heels by the same designer ($745) along with an old favorite pair of Bulgari sunglasses, sparkling diamond and sapphire earrings and a matching pendant.
Of course, the royal added her All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club ribbon; the Duchess of Cambridge serves as its royal patron and is entitled to wear the special pin.
The silk peplum dress with bow detail and gathered sleeves is quite similar to the yellow Alessandra Rich frock she wore during this spring’s Caribbean tour — and Middleton wore a sunny yellow dress from the tour during Saturday’s ladies’ final match, when Tom Cruise spotted her in the crowd.
The royal box at Wimbledon has a strict dress code (even for children), and Prince George looked adorable in his navy suit and matching striped tie as he watched Djokovic defeat Kyrgios.
The future king is turning nine this month — the same age Prince William was when he attended his first Wimbledon match with Princess Diana in 1991.
Meanwhile, proud dad Prince William, 40, coordinated with his son in navy trousers, a light blue shirt, solid navy tie and a tan jacket.
This is the second time we’ve seen a Cambridge blue moment in recent weeks: all three children coordinated in the color as they attended last month’s Platinum Jubilee parade.
And while Prince Louis might have been the unofficial star of the Platinum Jubilee, Prince George delighted fans at Wimbledon as he pulled funny faces (and picked his nose) during the tennis match.
As for why the other Cambridge kids didn’t attend, little Louis is too young, per Wimbledon rules, and the duchess told reporters at the event (per the Daily Star) that she didn’t bring Princess Charlotte because “It’s George’s treat today.”
Fingers crossed we’ll be treated to more matching family moments soon.
