Age is just a number?
Katharine McPhee wants more kids with her husband, David Foster, despite their 34-year age gap, but she is not in a “crazy rush” to do so.
“I would love to have another baby, but we’ll see,” the “Smash” alum shared on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” Friday.
“We’re not, like, in any crazy rush, but, um, I hope so because I love being a mom. I really love it.”
McPhee, 38, shares a 1-year-old son, Rennie, with Foster, 73.
The music producer also has five adult daughters from previous relationships: Allison, 52, Amy, 49, Sara, 41, Erin, 40, and Jordan, 36.
Foster has openly spoken about the fact that he does not regret welcoming a sixth child at a later stage in his life.
“I’ve loved every single day,” the Canadian musician told People in October 2022.
“It’s the standard thing of like, ‘Oh, well, you were so young when you had your children, and you were working day and night, you never saw them.’ And there is some truth to that, sadly, for my [older] kids. I was just working a lot. Even though I’m working a lot now, I’ll cancel anything just to hang with him. It’s just different.”
More recently, Foster said one of the advantages of being an older father is that he can provide “wisdom” to his young son.
“Even though I won’t be around when he’s 50 or 40 even, or 30 maybe, I think I can offer him wisdom from my [73] years on the planet, and maybe that’s not a bad trade-off,” the “You’re the Inspiration” songwriter told People earlier this month. “I hope so.”

Foster and McPhee have been married since June 2019.
The “American Idol” alum said in November 2022 that the couple keep the spark alive in their marriage by finding time to “reconnect” amid their busy schedules.
“I’ll have a glass of wine – he doesn’t drink – and we just talk,” she shared. “That’s our time together that we always make sure to have.”
