Katie Holmes and her 16-year-old daughter Suri’s quarantine experience felt like a “perpetual vacation.”
The duo painted, made quilts with a sewing machine and cooked while staying home amid the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020, the actress, 43, told Amazing magazine in her summer 2022 cover story (via the Daily Mail).
“We were also on a lake, and there was a hammock, so I would wake up, sew, have coffee, take a nap on the hammock,” she recalled.
Holmes went on to reveal that she and Suri watched “Dirty Dancing” 10 times.
“Let me tell you, I danced to it in the living room, and it still holds up,” Holmes, who welcomed her daughter in 2006 with then-husband Tom Cruise, said. “It was fun.”
Suri celebrated her 14th birthday that year, enjoying a low-key party at home.
“I am so blessed to be your mom,” the “Dawson’s Creek” alum wrote via Instagram in April 2020. “May this year be incredible!”
The following year, Holmes told her social media followers that she could not “believe” her child was “already 15.”
The “First Daughter” star wrote, “Happy 15th Birthday Sweetheart! I love you!!!!!!!! ❤️💕😘.”
Since Holmes welcomed Suri at age 27, the pair “kind of grew up together,” the “Kennedys” alum told Elle UK in November 2019.
“It’s been nice that our ages fit,” she explained to the magazine at the time. “Every age that my child has been and my age at that time has been a good match.”
Holmes and Cruise, now 60, split six years after Suri was born.
The “All We Had” star went on to date Jamie Foxx from 2013 to 2019 and chef Emilio Vitolo Jr. from 2020 to 2021.
In April, Holmes confirmed that she is dating musician Bobby Wooten III. The pair made their red carpet debut the following month.
