On Instagram Sunday, Kourtney Kardashian shared new details about the Dolce & Gabbana wedding dress she wore to marry Travis Barker in Italy last summer, revealing it was “inspired by some 1990s campaigns of Monica Bellucci shot by Helmut Newton for Blumarine.”
The images she referenced hail from the house’s spring 1993 campaign, for which the Italian bombshell modeled a dramatic veil and cupless bridal corset that exposed her chest.
While Kardashian, 43, wisely opted not to free the nipple while walking down the aisle, she went for a similarly thigh-baring white lace look for her nuptials.
“The first inspiration for my dress was when Travis and I were watching Guns N’ Roses November Rain video one night before we were even engaged, and we said to each other ‘this has to be our wedding,’” the reality star wrote in her caption.
“She was wearing a short dress and I thought to myself ‘I need a short dress!’”
The May 2022 wedding’s location, Portofino, “also influenced the vibes and feeling of the dress,” Kardashian added, because she “just wanted to feel like we ran off to Italy and got married.”

And Kardashian’s Bellucci-esque veil included a special tribute to the groom, 47.
“When @dolcegabbana suggested putting Travis’s head tattoo of the Virgin Mary on the handmade lace veil with the words from his tattoo: family, loyalty, respect underneath, I got chills and knew how special that felt,” she wrote.
Barker commented on the social media post, calling her “The most beautiful bride.”
However, not everyone in the comments section approved of the star’s sexy bridal style.
“The bottom of the corset feels off to me – reminds me of when toddlers have their onesie unbuttoned,” one person critiqued.
“It was a Pamper dress,” another quipped.
Others asked if the dress was authentic to the “Kardashians” star or if it was all for her rock star husband.
A follower posed the question, “Did you completely change the way you dress with your other boyfriends? Or just like the Rockstar [sic] theme now?”
“He changed nothing for her, she changed everything for him,” another harrumphed.
Regardless, one year after embarking on the design process with Dolce & Gabbana, Kardashian seems perfectly pleased with her big-day look.
