Michaela Watkins has starred in rom-coms including “The Backup Plan. But she says her latest film, “You Hurt My Feelings,” could cause couples to split.
“Honestly, this film is going to f–k people up. It is going to be responsible for a lot of breaks up and divorces,” she told Page Six.
The New York native — who has been married to her husband, actor Fred Kramer, for a decade — says the film will bring up couples’ true feelings about their partners.
The film starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus follows a writer who overhears her hubby (played by “Outlander” baddie Tobias Menzies) candidly criticizing her latest book.
Watkins, 51, says that off-screen, “I like to live in this delusion that my husband thinks I’m awesome, and everything I do he appreciates.”
The film is written and executive produced by indie darling Nicole Holofcener.
Says Watkins, “I am not a good liar — so I always have to find something truthful.”
She added, “I’ll be like, ‘I am just going to tell you… I think I really need to clean out my garage this weekend.’”
The film, out in theaters, also stars Arian Moayed, Amber Tamblyn, David Cross, Owen Teague and Jeannie Berlin.
“Seinfeld” actress Louis-Dreyfus, 62, has been married to her actor husband, Brad Hall, 65, since 1987, and she recently revealed on “Live with Kelly and Mark” that her own wedding gown was inspired by the one Princess Diana wore for her July 1981 royal wedding.
