Paris Hilton waited until the last minute to tell her family members about welcoming a son via surrogate.
The “Simple Life” alum revealed in a new interview that her loved ones didn’t know she was expecting when she and her husband, Carter Reum, went to the hospital in January.
“My entire life has been so public,” she explained in her March 2023 Harper’s Bazaar cover story, published Thursday.
“I’ve never had anything for myself. We decided that we wanted to have this whole experience to ourselves,” Hilton continued.
The hotel heiress, 41, pulled out all the stops to keep her baby boy under wraps, from wearing a brunette wig to the hospital to telling her staff she was having her house painted for two days to keep them out.
Before the news could leak to the world, Hilton shared a photo of herself holding the infant’s hand, writing, “You are already loved beyond words 💙.”
Her family found out about his existence just before the social media post went live.
Nicky Hilton publicly congratulated her older sister the following day, welcoming her to “mommyhood.”
The fashion designer wrote on Instagram, “So so incredibly happy for youuu! 🥰 It’s the most beautiful ride. There is no greater love. You are going to be the best mommy. What a lucky boy! 💙.”
As for Kathy Hilton and Rick Hilton, Paris’ parents said in a statement that they were “over the moon.”
Paris and Reum have yet to share more details about their baby boy, including his name, although the new mom did tell the magazine that she likes singing “the acoustic version” of her 2006 hit “Stars Are Blind” to him.
“I’m more interested in babies than billions,” she added, clarifying that she wants more children and recently completed her seventh egg retrieval.
The socialite also gushed about her marriage to Reum, whom she wed in November 2021.
Paris told Harper’s Bazaar that before the couple began dating in 2019, she privately thought of herself as asexual because “anything sexual terrified” her.
“I was known as a sex symbol, but … I called myself the ‘kissing bandit’ because I only liked to make out,” she explained. “A lot of my relationships didn’t work out because of that.”
Paris shared that she now enjoys “hooking up with” her husband, saying, “It wasn’t until Carter that I finally am not that way.”
The DJ was briefly engaged to “Leftovers” alum Chris Zylka in 2018.
