“Ketchup or makeup?”
Rihanna wants to make fans play a guessing game with her latest Fenty Beauty launch.
The makeup mogul, 34, is teaming up with art collective MSCHF on a limited-edition palette ($25) filled with “six packets that each contain either ketchup or lip gloss.”
Fans were divided over the new drop, and took to the comments section of Fenty Beauty’s announcement post on Instagram to sound off.
“I’m sorry but who wants to spend $25 to end up getting ketchup packets,” one wrote, while another quipped, “Is Rihanna still on maternity leave… who signed off?”
Asked a third, “Are the packets resealable if it is gloss? I have so many questions.”
And few seemed pleased to be getting more makeup (and/or condiments) before Rihanna’s long-awaited ninth album, with a fan joking, “Literally everything but music.”
Others commenters were more complimentary, calling the collab “so cool,” “lowkey fire” and “cute.”
MSCHF previously worked with Lil Nas X on his controversial “Satan Shoes” made with “one drop of human blood,” which led to a Nike lawsuit in 2021, among other irreverent projects.
As one fan alluded to, Rihanna has been busy parenting her newborn baby boy, whom she welcomed in May with rapper A$AP Rocky.
The “Umbrella” singer consistently wowed fans with her pregnancy style, stepping out in ensembles that ranged from colorful Chanel vintage to totally sheer Dior — and her postpartum looks have been no exception.
Most recently, the A-lister rocked a black satin cone bra and matching lace-up leggings for a night out at celebrity-loved eatery Carbone — where she likely dined on something far fancier than french fry sauce.
