Teresa Giudice confirmed she didn’t sign a prenup before marrying husband Luis “Louie” Ruelas in August.
The “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star, 50, admitted that she chose not to protect herself financially during a taping of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” that took place over the weekend at BravoCon 2022.
A fan — decked out in bridal garb resembling Giudice’s attention-grabbing wedding day look — addressed the newlywed, saying, “We love you. We love you and Louie’s love. And I wonder, did you happen to follow uncle Andy’s advice and get a prenup?”
Giudice flashed a wide smile and then confidently replied, “No. True love. True love, yes.”
Despite his previous warning to Giudice, host Andy Cohen seemed unfazed by her revelation. “Alright,” he said. “Personal decision.”
The “RHONJ” OG first told Cohen in February that she wasn’t interested in signing a prenup before walking down the aisle.
“No,” an awkward Giudice responded when asked by the “Housewives” honcho, 54, during a “WWHL” episode. “I mean, I don’t know.”
Giudice’s 21-year-old daughter, Gia, then chimed in with her opinion, asking why her mother would sign a prenup.
“Why wouldn’t she sign a prenup?” an astonished Cohen asked back. “Why wouldn’t she sign a prenup to protect what she has and to protect what he has?”
Gia then explained that her father, Joe Giudice, made Teresa sign a prenup before they exchanged vows in 1999. (The pair — who share four daughters in total — ultimately split and finalized their divorce in September 2020.)
“I really didn’t like that,” Gia said. “My dad really did make her sign a prenup before the wedding. … I don’t know, I think my mom, she’s so high up that she’s not gonna want to take anything from from him, and I think he would never want to take from her.”
Still, Cohen emphasized the importance of the legal document.
“I know but you put it in writing!” he said. “You just put it in writing, but of course they don’t want to take anything from each other.”
Teresa and Ruelas’ “I dos” were documented for a Bravo special called “The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Teresa’s Lavish Wedding.” It is set air the week after the Season 13 finale.
A premiere date for the next installment of “New Jersey” has yet to be announced, though filming wrapped this summer.
