CASS LAKE, Minn. (KFGO) – Two boys are facing possible charges for shooting a gun at two other boys in Cass County, Minnesota Thursday morning.
According to Sheriff Bryan Welk, someone called 911 shortly after 11 a.m. to report shots fired with one person possibly hit just north of Cass Lake.
Sheriff’s deputies and Leech Lake Tribal officers responded to find two boys with their families who said the boys were shot at while driving in the area. They said the shots came from two other boys who were on the road. The victims said they knew the boys who fired at them and they fled on foot.
Law enforcement set up a perimeter and used multiple resources to track the suspects. The suspects were taken into custody and officers recovered the weapons used.
The suspects are being held at a juvenile detention facility.
Neither of the boys was hurt by the gunfire, but bullets did strike their vehicle.
Several office buildings and a school were placed in lockdown during the search.
